Bharathiar University was founded at Coimbatore by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1982 below the thought of the Bharathiar University Act, 1981. The postgraduate formation of the University of Madras, which was working in Coimbatore before 1982 organized the meaning of the Bharathiar University. Mission of this university is to add knowledge and skills to students furnishing them to be prepare to face the issuing challenges to the knowledge area & to provide adequate chance to women students and train them to be alter partners in meeting the scientific and technological needs of the nation.
