Florida Memorial University is a private coeducational four-year college in Miami Gardens, Florida. One of the 39 part foundations of the United Negro College Fund, it is a verifiably Black, Baptist-related organization which is positioned second in Florida and ninth in the United States for graduating African-American instructors.

History

One of the most established scholastic focuses in Florida, the college was established in 1879 as the Florida Baptist Institute in Live Oak, Florida.[4] Soon after, the American Baptist Home Mission Society gave its full support and the primary consistent school year started in 1880.

Scholastics

Florida Memorial University is certify by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). It offers 41 college degree projects and 4 graduate degree programs through its eight scholastic divisions in six scholarly schools. The business projects are licensed by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. The social work program is certify by the Council on Social Work Education. The Music Department is certify by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

Library

The Nathan W. Collier Library was named after Nathan White Collier, who filled in as the third leader of Florida Baptist Academy for forty-five years. The Collier library houses 120,000 volumes, two Information Commons zones and in addition isolate Electronic, Teaching, Periodicals, Audiovisual and Group contemplate rooms. The library subscribes to 30 databases, 519 periodicals and contains two exceptional accumulations.
