Re: central board of anglo indian education
The Inter State Board for Anglo Indian Educations origin can be traced way back to 1935 when it was established as the Inter Provincial Board for European and Anglo Indian Education. Its purpose primarily was to ensure as far as possible uniformity of educational standards and coordination of European, Eurasian and Anglo Indian schools education Activities In 1947 after Mr. Frank Anthony was elected Chairman he suggested the word Provincial be replaced by State and the word European be dropped, hence the Inter State Board for Anglo Indian Education was established on 10th January 1948. The Inter State Board Introduced the Overseas (School Cambridge Examination conducted by the University of Cambridge local Examination Syndicate Cambridge, England. In 1948 the government decided to drop the Overseas Cambridge Exam but Mr. Frank Anthony approached Shri Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to take over the Cambridge Examination. In 1952 an All India Certificate Examination Conference was held under the Chairmanship of Shri Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Minister of Human Resources and Education. Syllabus Change by the Board The Presently , the Board has revised and updated the syllabus for classes I to VIII in the subjects English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Sciences, Social Studies and Art and Craft to make classroom transactions exhibit greater relevance and relate more closely to the experiences of pupils. The revised syllabus also includes Hindi Language and Literature, Life Skills, Value Education and Computer Science. The Syllabus may be introduced from the Academic Year 2016.
