PEC University of Technology (Punjab Engineering College (PEC) having its foundations in Lahore as Mugalpura Engineering College since 1921, moved to its present campus in 1953 as PEC associated to Panjab University. The establishment moved toward becoming Deemed University in 2003 through a MHRD notice and rechristened as PEC University of Technology in 2009. It is a Grant-in-Aid organization under organization of Union Territory of Chandigarh, Government of India. The foundation offers 8 Undergraduate B. Tech. Projects and 14 Post graduate M. Tech. Programs in different controls of designing and innovation. Subsequent to getting to be University, the establishment has likewise begun PhD program in different orders of designing, science, administration, humanities and sociologies. The admission to UG and PG projects are made through national level examinations in particular JEE (Mains) and GATE separately. There are 9 scholastic offices and 2 focuses of greatness. The personnel of scholarly divisions and focuses is included in forefront innovative work works. The establishment works together intimately with research associations, ventures, graduated class and other scholarly foundations both India and abroad, and has marked MoUs to seek after joint research in specialty territories. The course/training programme may be organized by the faculty at Department Level / College Level independently or in collaboration with any other Ministry, Government agency / Society/ Institute or Private Industry. Thus, the proposed course may be funded by i) Registration fees from Participants alone, or ii) Ministry / Governmental agency like AICTE, UGC, DST, QIP Center etc. iii) Sponsored by a Society like Instt. of Engineers. etc. iv) Fully sponsored by the Industry v) Mix of the above modes ( should be specified by the Principal Coordinator) Rankings The university was positioned #9 in the restricted interest CSR-GHRDC Engineering Colleges Survey 2013.[1] It was positioned #16 in the Mint Top 50 Government Engineering Colleges Survey of 2009. Courses Bachelor of Engineering in: Aerospace Engineering Civil Engineering Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering Mechanical Engineering Materials and Metallurgical Engineering Production & Industrial Engineering The institute offers Master of Engineering degrees in the following specializations: Highways, Structures, Hydraulics and Irrigation, Rotodynamic Machines, Electrical Power Systems, Environmental Engineering (Interdisciplinary), Electronics Metallurgical Engineering, C.I.M. The institute awards minor degrees to aspirants in fields other than their main stream of study (only for BE students).
