Kudgi is a 4,000MW supercritical thermal power plant that is being created by NTPC, at Kudgi town in Bijapur District of Karnataka. It is NTPC's initial 800MW supercritical venture and is being created in two phases. The principal stage will have a limit of 2,400MW (3 x 800MW) and the second stage will have a limit of 1,600MW (2 x 800MW).

Power created from the local power plant will be provided toward the South Indian conditions of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Development works for the primary phase of the plant initiated in 2012 and appointing is normal in 2015-2016.

The aggregate speculation required for the venture was evaluated to be INR 132.05bn (roughly $2.91bn) as of January 2012. Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) gave a $350m term credit to the primary phase of the venture in January 2014.

Kudgi super thermal power plant subtle elements and make-up

NTPC, Power Company of Karnataka Limited (PCKL), and Energy Department of Karnataka marked a notice of comprehension in January 2009 to build the super warm power plant at Kudgi.

The principal phase of the plant will include three supercritical once-through coal terminated boilers and three 800MW steam turbines. Two of the three boilers, to be provided by Doosan, will create 2,550t of high-weight steam every hour, with weight levels and temperature achieving 271kg/cm2 and 569°C individually.

Fuel supply to the Kudgi control plant

Local coal will be utilized at first to generate control at the Kudgi supercritical power plant, while mixed coal is relied upon to be utilized as a part of future.

The venture is evaluated to have a coal necessity of 12million tons for every year, which will be given from NTPC's Pakri Barwadih Coal Block in Jharkhand.

Supply and exchange of energy created at the Kudgi STPP

Control required amid the development of the venture will be sourced from KPTCL's Basavana Bagevadi Substation, arranged roughly 20km from the site.
