Lovely Professional University National Eligibility and Scholarship Test (LPU NEST) Cut off marks are the minimum scores to be obtained by the candidates in order to be qualified for the Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test. The minimum marks are set by the University based on candidate’s performance in the entrance test. Cut off will be determined on the basis of a lot of factors like number of applicants, number of vacant seats etc. Factors which determine LPU NEST 2017 Cut Off Although the University has announced the cut off marks for the B. Tech courses the scholarship will be based on the marks obtained by the candidates. • Based on candidate’s performance in the entrance exam. • Number of seats available for seat allotment. • Highest and Lowest and the exam marks. • Number of candidates who are appearing in the LPU NEST 2017 exam. • Yearly intake under the exam. For the academic year 2017-18 the cut off marks for B. Tech courses is 30%.The scholarship will also be awarded to those students who score more than or equal to the cut off marks. The Result will be declared on May 4, 2017 and the Merit List will be prepared on the basis of the candidates marks scored in the entrance test. Short listed candidates, who will reach the cut off marks, will be called for counselling/seat-allotment process. Tie Break Resolution The following criteria is set for the candidates in order to break the tie that might occur during the LPU NEST 2017 exam • If two candidates scores equal marks in the entrance test then the better of two subjects will be counted and will be given ranks on this basis. • If the above criteria also remain same such as the marks of best two subjects then the one getting the highest mark in a single subject will be considered. • This will be the final decision and candidates will get admission and called for counselling on the above mentioned criteria set by the University. |
