Re: centac seat allocation
Admission to B.Tech courses offered by Government and Self-financing colleges in the U.T of Puducherry will be conducted by the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC). For students belonging to Puducherry, Admission to various B.Tech courses offered by CENTAC 2017 will be based on scores of Class 12 or any equivalent exam, while candidates of other states and UTs will be selected based on their JEE (Main) 2017 scores. Admission to all courses is based on the merit, category of the candidates, and the availability of seats at the time of counseling. Admission to all B.Tech courses will be based on the Merit List drawn up by CENTAC, prepared by normalizing marks obtained by candidates in their H.Sc (Academic) or equivalent exam. 43 colleges (8 government and 35 private) will participate in the CENTAC Counselling for admission in the courses according to their preferences. 85% seats are reserved for students from Puducherry and 15% seats will be filled on All India Basis representing students of other states and union territories of India. To participate in the counseling round, the candidate has to deposit a fee of Rs. 850 (Rs, 350 for SC/BT), which is refundable in case the candidate doesn’t get selected in the first round. However for each subsequent round, a non-refundable fee of Rs. 850 (Rs, 350 for SC/BT) will be collected from every student. The fee for CENTAC Counselling 2017 has to be paid in the form of a “Demand Draft” drawn in favour of “The Convenor, CENTAC,” payable at Puducherry. The candidate can only opt for the seat available at the time of counselling and cannot claim any seat as per his / her original rank for the course. In any case, counselling will not be done in the absence of candidates. Contact Information Centralised Admission Committee Pondicherry Engineering College Puducherry – 605014 |
