The Hotel derives its name from the highest peak of the Narkanda area - Hatu - (3,300 m) surrounded by thick woods, with spectacular views of snow clad ranges round the year.

It is run by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC)

The area has forests of fir and spruce, with a smattering of maple, aspen and cedar trees.

Narkanda is a destination for a quiet holiday in the heart of nature.

Narkanda is a 2 hour drive from Shimla, a distance of 64 km, on National Highway 22 on way to Rampur and Kinnaur. Narkanda is the gateway to Apple Countryside of Himachal Pradesh.

The Hatu is ideally situated for leisure and sightseeing.

This is a good stopover while travelling along the Hindustan Tibet Road with superb views from the Hotel.
