The Graduate and Technical Staff Trainee Opportunities - 2017 Scheme opened by Northern Power Grid is closed now. Its details are as follows: Northern Power Grid was looking for talented graduates with the passion and dedication to become highly skilled Engineers. Its Graduate Programme equip one with the skills one needed to begin an exciting new career. It looked for individuals with an HNC/HND (or equivalent qualification) with the dedication to become highly skilled engineers through Trainee Development Programme. It had created a training programme designed to give a broad picture of Northern Powergrid while gaining professional experience, completing work-based projects and training courses, and undertaking academic study. Once training programme is completed, it placed one in a permanent role that best suits one’s skills, qualities and interests. Programme Overview The Graduate Programme lasts 2 years. Following an induction, explaining business and role within it, one will spend 18 months completing a variety of structured placements, along with 7 formal courses. Initially, one will shadow engineers. As one progress, one will start planning and organising activities. One will be involved in site works as well as non-operational positions, including design and asset management. One will also enjoy opportunities to visit the factories that build and supply equipment. One will see key items such as transformers, cables and switchgear being made. During final 6 months, one will complete an extended placement. One will also complete any extra training that's necessary to join in chosen role on a full-time, permanent basis once successfully complete the Programme. Benefits It will reward with a competitive salary of £27,358 (pay award pending) per year. One will enjoy paid breaks too. One will begin with 25 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays), which will rise to 28 days over time. |
