Gary M. Blau, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist and is as of now the Chief of the Child, Adolescent and Family Branch of the Center for Mental Health Services. In this part he gives national initiative to kids' emotional wellness and for making "frameworks of care" the nation over. Preceding this, Dr. Blau was the Bureau Chief of Quality Management and Director of Mental Health at the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF), and the Director of Clinical Services at the Child and Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut. Dr. Blau has been chosen and named to various positions, including Chairperson of the National Association of State Mental Health Program Director's Division of Children, Youth and Families and Clinical Faculty at the Yale Child Study Center. He has additionally gotten many honors, including the prestigious Pro Humanitate Literary Award for scholarly works which best represent the scholarly honesty and good boldness required to rise above political and social hindrances to advance best practice in the field of youngster welfare, the Governor's Service Award, the Phoebe Bennet Award for extraordinary commitment to kids' emotional wellness in Connecticut, and the Making a Difference Award displayed by Connecticut's Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health. For his national work, Dr. Blau got the Outstanding Achievement Award introduced by the National Association of Children's Behavioral Health, and was the beneficiary of the 2009 HHS Secretary's Award for Meritorious Service for his national initiative in kids' psychological well-being. In 2011, he was the principal beneficiary of the Rock Star Award, displayed by Youth M.O.V.E., National for "being a genuine champion for the adolescent development and backer for youth voice." This honor is presently named after him. Dr. Blau has various diary distributions and has been the editorial manager of six books, His latest book, co-altered with Dr. Sylvia Fisher and Jeff Poirier, is "Enhancing Emotional and Behavioral Outcomes for LGBT Youth." Other volumes incorporate a book he co-altered with Dr. Phyllis Magrab titled, "The Leadership Equation: Strategies for Individuals who are Champions for Children, Youth and Families," a book co-altered with Beth Stroul, titled, "The System of Care Handbook: Transforming Mental Health Services for Children, Youth and Families," and a book co-altered with Thomas Gullotta titled, "The Handbook of Childhood Behavioral Issues: Evidence Based Approaches to Prevention and Treatment." Dr. Blau got his Ph.D. from Auburn University (Auburn, Alabama) in 1988. He is joyfully hitched since December of 1982 to his closest companion, Gwenn Blau, and they are staggeringly glad for their two awesome grown-up youngsters, Jennifer and Andrew. |
