I would like to tell you that Jawaharlal Nehru University, School of Computer & Systems Sciences does not offer Part time PHD program to students, here will get details of PHD program offer to student on full time basis.

Admission Procedure
Admission is offered to candidates based on their performance in the written test and the viva-voce examination, as per University rules.

The candidates who join the programme are required to complete the course work within the first two semesters. Successful completion of the course work is the prerequisite for the confirmation in the Ph.D. programme.

Eligibility
a) Obtained 2 years M.Tech/M.Phil. degree with at least 55% marks of a recognized University/Institution (with Dissertation/Seminar/Viva), except those who joined M.Tech. on or before 2002-2003 and with at least 55% marks or equivalent in Master’s degree;
OR
b) One year M.Phil. with 55% marks with additional one year research experience of a recognized University/Institute, and one publication and with at least 55% marks or equivalent in Master’s degree;
OR
c) Master’s Degree/BE/B.Tech with 55% marks or equivalent Grade ‘B’ in UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent Grade in a point scale wherever Grading system is followed). Relaxation to SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/Differently abled as per the UGC Regulations 2016

Program structure

1. A student shall have to earn a minimum of 15 credits at the end of I year in the course work in order to be eligible to continue in the Ph.D. programme.

2. The Students are required to opt at least 2 elective courses and elective courses should be opted in the first/second semester of PhD programme.
