The CUSAT (Cochin University of Science & Technology) offers admission to the third semester of B. Tech Programmes in Civil Engg., Computer Science & Engg., Electrical & Electronics Engg., Electronics & Communication Engg., Information Technology, Instrumentation Technology, Mechanical Engg., Polymer Science & Engineering and Safety & Fire Engg which is conducted by the Cochin University College of Engineering, Kuttanad; School of Engineering; Department of Instrumentation and Polymer Science & Rubber Technology, Thrikkakara campus through Lateral Entry Scheme. One with any three year Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the Board of Technical Education recognised by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala, with minimum 60% marks, will be considered for admission to the B.Tech programme through Lateral Entry Scheme. The maximum age prescribed is 25 years as on 1st July of the year of admission. Admissions will be based on the rank in the admission test, conducted for the purpose. Selected candidates will have to undergo remedial courses as decided by the University. Details regarding age limit, eligibility criteria etc. will be published in the Notification. Test Centre for Lateral Entry to B. Tech Programmes (LET) will be only at Ernakulam. Admission Tests Test for Lateral Entry to III Semester B. Tech Programme Test Code -- 102 The Lateral Entry Test (LET) (Test 102) for admission to III Semester of the B. Tech course comprises 200 objective type questions designed to test the proficiency in English (20 questions), Mathematics (50 questions), Engineering Mechanics (40 questions), Engineering Graphics (40 questions) and General Engineering (50 questions). The test shall be of 3 hours duration and the maximum marks will be 600. Communal Reservation Rules for communal reservation framed by the Government of Kerala and implemented by the University from time to time will be applicable to the various academic programmes. Only candidates from ‘Socially and Educationally Backward Communities’ (SEBC) eligible for Kerala State communal reservation are considered for seats earmark for such communities, provided that the eligibility for such reservation is subject to satisfactory verification of relevant Community and Annual Family Income certificates issued by competent revenue authorities as prescribed by the rules of the University in force. Community Certificate and Annual family Income Certificate are to be issued by the Village Officer concerned for ‘SEBC’ candidates belonging to the state of Kerala and by the Tahsildar concerned for KSC/KST candidates belonging to State of Kerala for claiming admission under respective “Reservation” category.
