About the AFCAT
Indian Air Force conducts Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) for candidates to recruit them to Flying, Technical and Ground Duty Officer Branches. It came into existence in the year 2011.


Examination Pattern

AFCAT - General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test

Duration - 02 Hours

No. of Questions - 100

Max Marks - 300

EKT (For Ground Duty Technical Branch only) - Mechanical, Computer Science and Electrical and Electronics

Duration - 45 Minutes

No. of Questions - 50

Max Marks - 150

Marking Scheme:-

Three marks for every correct attempt.

One mark for every incorrect attempt.

No marks for unattempted questions.


Syllabus

)English - Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion/Filling in of correct word, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary, Idioms and Phrases

(ab) General Awareness - History, Geography, Civics, Politics, Current Affairs, Environment, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Sports, etc

(ac) Numerical Ability - Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple Interest, Time & Distance (Trains/Boats & Streams)

(ad) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test - Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability

Standard - The standard of Numerical Ability Questions will be of Matriculation level. The standard of questions in other subjects will be of graduation level (Indian University).
