The IIT Bombay was set up in 1958 at Powai with the cooperation of UNESCO and the then Government of USSR.

The IIT Bombay is recognized as one of the institutions of excellence for training and research in engineering sciences and several other academic disciplines.

The total fee to be paid for the Autumn Semester is Rs.67,876 (for GEN / OBC candidates) and Rs. 22,876 (for SC/ST/PD).

If you choose for hostel accommodation at IIT Bombay, you must pay Rs. 16,000 (Rs. 2,000 refundable mess advance + Rs. 13,000 Semester mess advance + Rs.1,000 towards Bus pass for internal transport for IITB Campus.)
