We are living in Kolkata. My sister is pursuing Bachelor Degree Program (BDP) in Commerce from Netaji Subhas Open University (WBNSOU). The University has released time table for 1st Year Examinations. So she need question papers of last year examinations. PART I:
1. From the following Trial Balance prepare Trading and Profit & Loss A/c for the year ended 31.12.2016 and a Balance Sheet as on that date:
Debit balance : Land & Building Rs. 25,000; Machinery Rs. 10,500; Drawings Rs. 2,600;
Opening Stock Rs. 10,000; Furniture & Fittings Rs. 4,000; Wages Rs. 9,000; Carriage Rs. 900; General expenses Rs. 2,500; Rent Rs. 1,000; Advertisement Rs. 500; Insurance Rs. 600;
Sundry Debtors Rs. 15,000; Salaries Rs. 3,500; Cash in hand Rs. 10,000; Purchases Rs. 2,500. Credit balance : Capital Rs. 42,000; Sundry Creditors Rs. 4,500; Bank loan Rs. 5,000;
Commission Rs. 1,500; Sales Rs. 73,400; Reserve for bad debts Rs. 1,200
Additional information :
i) Closing stock Rs. 10,000
ii) Depreciate Land & Building 2% p.a. and Machinery @ 10% p.a.
iii) The rent of the shop was Rs. 1,200 p.a.
iv) Allow interest on Capital @ 5% p.a.
v) Insurance unexpired Rs. 200
vi) 10% of Sundry Debtors is bad. Create a reserve of 5% for bad debts.

2. Jadu of Kolkata sends 100 radios to his agent Madhu at Purulia on consignment basis. Cost
price of each radio Rs. 1,500, Invoice price being 25% on cost price. Jadu pays Rs. 32,000 at his end. Madhu is entitled to get ordinary commission @ 5% and del credere commission @ 2 ½ %. Madhu spends Rs. 1,500 for unloading and Rs. 2,000 for advertisement. Madhu gives the details of sales as follows :
40 radios @ Rs. 1,500
30 radios @ Rs. 1,250
10 radios @ Rs. 1,200
5 radios were damaged in the godown. The insurance company paid Rs. 2,000.
