The establishment stone of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, normally called IGRUA, was laid by the then Hon'ble Prime Minister of India,Late Capt Rajiv Gandhi on 07 November 1985.

"The Governing Council"

The Akademi capacities under the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), Govt. of India (GOI) through its Governing Council (GC). Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) situated at Fursatganj District Amethii Uttar Pradesh, is an independent body under the control of the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The Governing Council is the preeminent body of the association headed by the Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The Akademi is going by a Director who is helped by Departmental heads of Operations, Services, Finance and HR.

IGRUA has gone into a Management Contract with Global Aviation Giant - Canadian Aviation Electronics, Canada to enhance IGRUA's standard to world class

The remote nationals from Afghanistan, Royal Nepal Airlines, Mauritius, Zambia and Seachelleous have additionally experienced Pilot Training at IGRUA.

The Refresher courses for all Chief Flying Instructors/Pilot Instructor Incharge of flying clubs are led consistently.

The Pilot preparing to hopefuls of Indian Airlines, BSF, Coast Guard applicants, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy is additionally given by IGRUA as and when required.

Approved Courses

2. Simulator training as per candidates requirements.

6. Multi-Crew Co-operation (MCC) Course
7. Licence issue/ renewal tests and Licence endorsement checks.
8. Ab-initio to Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL) course for foreign nationals as per Regulatory requirements in their respective countries
9. Specifically designed training courses for Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard Pilots.

CRM Workshop
• IGRUA conducts a 2 1/2 day CRM Workshop four times every year.
• Applicable fee Rs. 10,000/- per candidate and payable in advance.

Multi-Crew Co-operation Course (MCC)
• This CAE Oxford Aviation Academy designed bridge course has three objectives :
i. Prepare the ab-initio trainee for the multi-pilot cockpit;
ii. Prepare the CPL holder for the simulator checkride of a recruitment procedure of an airline
iii. Prepare the ab-initio trainee for his first type rating training
• Aim of the course is to enable the pilot to become proficient in multi-crew co-operation in order to operate safely multi-pilot, multi-engine aircraft under IFR

• Training is conducted on DA 42 multi engine aircraft simulator

• Course is conducted by an ex-airline very experienced commander

• Duration : 10 working days

• 2 ½ day CRM workshop conducted at IGRUA is a pre-requisite for the course

• Applicable fee Rs. 75,000/- per candidate and payable in advance
