Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India level entrance exam. The exam is held for the candidates who are interested in undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes. Eligibility Criteria Age Criteria Candidates who are above 20 years (for general/NRI/NRI sponsored candidates) and 22 years (for reserved categories Education Qualification For undergraduate Course The candidates have qualified Higher Secondary School/ Intermediate or equivalent examination from 10+2 education system from a recognized board. The candidates must have secured at least 45% marks in aggregate of the total marks and if belonging to SC/ST category, they should have a minimum of 40% marks. For post Graduate Course The candidates must have completed the LL.B or five-year Integrated LL.B degree with not less than 55% marks and (50% in case of SC/ST candidates) from a recognized university as prescribed by the participating universities. There is no upper age limit for PG courses. Format of Exam : CLAT Structure English (including comprehension) 40 marks Elementary Mathematics 20 marks General Knowledge/Current Affairs 50 marks Logical Reasoning 40 marks Legal Reasoning 50 marks Total Marks: 200 Number of Questions: 200 Duration: 2 hours Marking:There is system of negative marking and for every incorrect answer 1/4th marks will be deducted. |
