I have completed graduation from University of Delhi. Now I want to start preparation for UPSC Exam. So I have selected Indian Forest Service Exam conducted by UPSC. I want to know about work of this service, so do you know what is work of Indian Forest Service?

The IFS Exam (Indian Forest Service) is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This Exam is same as Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC. Exam Pattern: Preliminary Exam: Same as Civil Service Exam by UPSC Main Exam: Paper 1- General English- 300 Marks Paper 2- General Knowledge- 300 Marks Papers 3, 4, 5 and 6- Any two subjects to be selected from the list of the optional subjects. Each subject will have two papers- 200 marks for each paper. Personality Test: Maximum Marks- 300 List of optional subjects: Agriculture Chemistry Forestry Geology Physics Zoology Agricultural Engineering Chemical Engineering Civil Engineering Mathematics Mechanical Engineering Statistics Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science Botany Minimum Qualification: Having a Bachelor Degree with at least one of these subjects: Botany, Geology, Agriculture, Agriculture Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, Forestry, Engineering. Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Work of Indian Forest Service: The work in Indian Forest Service is to save the forest and wild life and maintain the forest areas. For the development they are eliminating the wild life day by day, so the Forest Officers stop illegal wood cutting, and any damage of wild animal life. They also save the people who live nearby forest form wild animal. A forest officer can take strict action against the person who breaks the rules of forest. Forest Officers implement National forest policy framed by MoEF from time to time. |
