The IDEC corporation is provides Modbus communications. This is the most common protocol in industrial automation.

With Modbus TCP Client and Server standard in FT1A SmartAXIS, connecting to SCADA systems or communicating with other devices such as VFD are a snap.

Modbus RTU using RS232C/RS485 adapter is also supported.

The embedded I/O on the FT1A SmartAXIS can be configured as 0-10V analog inputs with 10-bit 0-1000 resolution.

Up to 8 analog inputs (depending on the model) can be configured.

This reduces the cost of adding additional analog modules.
