University of Madras is a public state university in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Established in 1857, it is one of the oldest and premier universities in India. The university was incorporated by an act of the Legislative Council of India.

Centre For Ocean And Coastal Studies

The Center for Ocean And Coastal of the University of Madras Established With the Objective of the emerging areas of ocean science and technology as a means of capacity building.

Objective :

To generate employable post-graduates in marine science for gainful employment in institutions related to ocean/marine sciences.
To generate knowledgeable manpower for sustainable utilization of living & non-living resources of Ocean and Coastal systems.
