The Indo-Tibetan Border Police is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of India. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police was established on 24 October 1962, under the CRPF Act, in the wake of the Sino-Indian War of 1962. The ITBP was intended for deployment along India's border with China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Shri R K Pachnanda, IPS takes charge as the new Director General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Shri Krishna Chaudhary, DG who retired on superannuation, handed over the customary baton to Shri Pachnanda in a function held at the Force HQ at CGO Complex.
