Hii sir, I Wants to know the Procedure for Hosting the Own Home Page on the Website of the IIT Kanpur ?

Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur is a public engineering institution located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It was declared to be an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the Institutes of Technology Act.

The procedure for Hosting the Own Home Page on the Website of the IIT Kanpur is given below


Login or FTP to the server webhome (172.31.1.40).

2. Change the directory to / <login-id>/ (e.g. if your login is navi then change directory to /navi/

4. Put the contents of your home page in this directory directory. You can put cgi scripts also.

5. The disk quota is 10 MB.

6. The URL of your home page will be home.iitk.ac.in~<login-id> (e.g. if your login id is navi then the URL will

be home.iitk.ac.in/~navi).
