The National Thermal Power Corporation Limited is an Indian Public Sector Undertaking, engaged in the business of generation of electricity and allied activities.

It is a company incorporated under the Companies Act 1956 and a "Government Company" within the meaning of the act.

The NTPC Ltd is India’s largest power generating company, is all set to play a major role in the renewable energy sector.

The company is presently setting up two wind energy projects in Karnataka and one in Gujarat, is looking for more wind and solar energy projects in Karnataka, Kerala and Gujarat.
