Re: nda medical test
Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination as per guidelines given. Candidates are advised to rectify minor defects/ailments in order to speed up finalisation of medical examination conducted at the military hospital after being recommended at the SSB The under mentioned ailments are considered common minor ailments: Wax (Ears), deviated Nasal Septum, Hydrocele/Phimosis, Overweight/underweight, Under Sized Chest, Piles, Gynaecomastia, tonsillitis, Varicocele. A candidate recommended by the Service Selection Board will undergo a medical Examination by a Board of service Medical officers. Only those candidates will be admitted to the academy who are declared fit by the Medical Board. NDA Height & Weight Chart:- Height and Weight for Men and Women HEIGHT: The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air Force) For Gorkhas and individuals belonging to hills of North Eastern regions of India, Garhwal and Kumaon, the minimum acceptable heights will be 5 cms less. In the case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms. CHEST: Chest should be well developed. Fully expanded chest should not be less than 81 cms. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cms. X-Ray of the chest is compulsory and will be taken to rule out any disease of the chest. VISUAL STANDARD: One should be able to read in a distant vision chart 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye with or without glasses. One should be able to recognize red and green colours. One need to give certificates that neither he nor any member of his family has suffered from congenital night blindness. One who has undergone Laser Surgery for correction of refractive error are also not acceptable to defence services. PHYSICAL CONDITIONING: One needs to keep in good physical condition, by following the 1.Running 2.4 km in 15 minutes 2.Skipping 3.Pushups and sit-ups ( minimum 20 each ) 4.Chin ups ( minimum 08 ) 5.Rope climbing -3-4 meters. TATTOOS: Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearm i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm / back (dorsal) side of hand / Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and candidates will be barred from further selection. |
