The Certified Respiratory Therapist credential is the NBRC’s entry-level credential that has become a standard for state licensure. The NBRC is organised the CRT test. The Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination objectively measures essential knowledge, skills, and abilities required of respiratory therapists at entry into practice. The NBRC is provides all 49 states that regulate the practice of respiratory care use the CRT or RRT credential as the basis for state licensure. Application for NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist: Paper pattern: The Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination is designed to test a graduate’s knowledge and skills required to enter practice. It consists of 160 multiple-choice questions in three content areas: Patient Data Evaluation and Recommendations Troubleshooting and Quality Control of Equipment and Infection Control Initiation and Modification of Interventions Test takers are given three hours to complete the examination. Age: To qualify to take the CRT examination, candidates must be at least 18 years old Qualification: Candidates must be a graduate of and have a minimum of an associate degree from a respiratory therapy education program supported or accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
