The Medical College Admission Test® (MCAT®) is a standardized, multiple-choice examination designed to assess your problem solving, critical thinking, and knowledge of natural, behavioral, and social science concepts and principles prerequisite to the study of medicine.

Eligibility Criteria

Any aspirant who is planning to apply to health professional institutions can take the MCAT 2017. Along with medicine, the following schools are also a part of ‘health professional institutions’:

Basic Biochemistry concepts: first-semester biochemistry;
Biology: Cellular and molecular (first-semester biochemistry);

Statistics concepts and introductory research methods; and
Natural sciences: Scientific inquiry and reasoning, research methods, and statistics.
Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems
Introductory biology, chemistry: organic and inorganic, and concepts of physics;

First semester biochemistry concepts;

First semester molecular biology;
Introductory statistics concepts and research methods used for introductory science courses; and
Show scientific inquiry and reasoning, research methods, and statistics skills as applied to the natural sciences.
Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behaviour

Concepts of psychology, sociology, and biology about the behavioral and socio-cultural health determinants;
Concepts of psychology and sociology;
Biology concepts of mental processes and behavior;
Introductory statistics concepts and research methods of introductory science; and
Social and behavioral sciences: scientific inquiry and reasoning, research methods, and statistics skills.

Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills
Test comprehension, analysis, and reasoning skills;
Include content from ethics, philosophy, studies of diverse cultures, population health, and a wide range of social sciences and humanities disciplines
