57 years of age is decided for superannuation in IAF exam. A Permanent Commission in the Air Force means that you will work for IAF till you retire. Permanent Commission Officers continue to serve till the age of superannuation. Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried (term unmarried excludes widower and divorcee even though without encumbrances). Marriage is not permitted during training. Married candidates above 25 years of age are eligible to apply but during training period they will neither be provided married accommodation nor can they live out with family. Retirement age of Airmen is 57 years. Permanent Commission: For Men Flying Branch After 10+2 you can join National Defence Academy (NDA) through NDA exam conducted by UPSC every year. After graduation you can join IAF flying branch through CDS exam conducted by UPSC every year. Technical Branch and Ground Duty Branch You can join Technical and Ground Duty branch of Indian Air Force after Graduation through AFCAT [Air Force Common Admission Test] exam which is conducted by Indian Air Force every year. For Women Presently Women Officers of Education and Accounts Branch only are being considered for Permanent Commission. Option for PC will be considered /offered on successful completion of Short Service Commission (SSC) tenure, subject to Vacancies, suitability, merit, willingness and service requirements |
