Can you provide me the Guidelines provided for Research in benefits of yoga by Centre for Integrative Medicine and Research (CIMR) of All-India Institute of Medical Sciences?

To scientifically validate benefits of yoga, the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences is starting a Centre for Integrative Medicines and Research to conduct research into medical benefits of yoga.

The centre will focus on research to authenticate the benefits of yoga and ayurveda.
Centre for Integrative Medicines and Research will establish scientific evidence of the therapeutic benefits of yoga and incorporate it into the conventional system of health management.

The Centre will try to find out benefits of yoga for cardiac care, physiology, cancer research, geriatric medicine, dental education, infectious diseases, ayurveda, and clinical care in conjunction with conventional modern medicine.

Guidelines for Research

1. The Centre will only support investigator initiated proposals.
2. The Centre shall support studies with a core research on Yoga or Ayurveda. The focus areas will be Cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, Pulmonary, Neurology and Rehabilitation including post Surgery and Cancer therapy.
3. The Centre is not a funding agency but only a facility to help carry out the research work. Funding responsibility is with the principle investigator of the study who may apply to various agencies. It is expected that for a trial to be conducted at the Centre, funding may be sought after the Centre research committee has accepted the project.
4. The Centre is a restricted area only for members of the Centre committee, project investigators, research staff, yoga experts on the panel, other staff employed at Centre and the subjects under study proposals. The facility is not meant for cultural or leisure activities.
