Annamalai University invites application form for admission to the MBBS Courses for the academic year 2016-17. MBBS Admissions- Seats - 150 Duration: 5 ½ years including internship) Eligibility Criteria - Higher Secondary Certificate Exam (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board/any other equivalent Board in one and the same attempt (single sitting) with the following group of subjects and securing minimum eligible marks (a) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (or) (b) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject Candidates who have passed the HSC in the Vocational Stream and private candidates are not eligible to apply for Medical /Dental Courses Candidates should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st of December 2016. (i.e) should have born on or before 31st December 1999. Evidence should be produced Minimum Eligibility Marks Other Communities: (a) A minimum of 60% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together; (b) A minimum of 60% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry; (c) Weighted aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of marks in (b) should not be less than 140 out of 200 marks Backward Class and Backward Class Muslim: (a) A minimum of 60% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together; (b) A minimum of 60% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry; (c) Weighted aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of marks in (b) should not be less than 130 out of 200 marks Most Backward Classes and Denitrified Communities: (a) A minimum of 55% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together; (b) A minimum of 55% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry; (c) Weighted aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of marks in (b) should not be less than 120 out of 200 marks Method of Selection & Admission Ranking will be made on the merit on the basis of marks obtained by the eligible candidates in the Science subjects in the qualifying examinations reduced to the base of 200 marks The marks obtained through different boards will be taken into account after normalization Calculation Weighted Total Marks for a maximum of - 200 Percentage in Biology (after normalization) - (X) Percentage in Physics & Chemistry taken together (after normalization) - (Y) Percentage in Botany & Zoology taken together (after normalization) - (Z) Weighted total marks for a maximum of - Either (X+Y) or (Y+Z) Contact- Annamalai University Sadagopan Nagar, Annamalai Nagar, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu 608002 |
