ITBP was raised on 24 Oct , 1962 . By and by ITBP is conveyed on fringe guarding obligations from Karakoram go in ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pardesh covering 3488 Km of indo - China Border and keeping an eye on outskirt outpostson heights seething from 9000 , to 18700 in the Western , Middle and Eastern Sector of the Indo - China Border .

ITBPF is a particular mounatain Force and a large portion of the officers and men are professionnaly prepared mountain climbers and skiers.

Medicinal Wing of ITBP is giving administrations to far flung areas wherever ITBP is sent.

Dr. K.K. Mukherjee joined BSFas Medical Officer on 16thJuly1980 and has served in Tripura ,Meghalaya , West Bengal , Kashmir , Punjab and Gujarat .

On advancement as Inspector General (Medical), stayed presented on Referral healing facility,

ITB Police on 23rd February, 2012 and in this way joined as Director (Medical) ,

ITBP on 03rd December, 2013. He has been granted Police Medal for Meritorious Services in 1997 and granted President Police Medal for recognized administrations in 2012
