Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna University Srinagar

HNB Garhwal University is situated in Srinagar, Pauri District of Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Srinagar has strongly originated as a centre of higher learning and research with the organization of the University. Beginning of Garhwal University in 1973 was the satisfaction of a long precious dream of the local people. The university received its new name after Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, a noted statesman from the region who headed the “Chipko Movement” to save the forest.
