The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is an independent engineering and technology-pointed institute of higher education founded by the Government of India in 1951. IIT Kharagpur has been ranked between the top engineering colleges in India by several education inspects such as India Today. The students and alumni of IIT Kharagpur are informally named to as KGPians. The alumni of IIT Kharagpur have succeeded importance in several fields. The institute exaggerates several regarded as alumni such as Mr Arun Sarin, former CEO of Vodafone; Mr Anup Verma, Director (Asia Pacific), Oracle; Mr Vinod Gupta, founder of VGSOM; and Mr Arjun Malhotra, co-founder of HCI Technologies, among others.
