The Indira Gandhi Institute of Developmental Research (IGIDR), Mumbai is a progressed research institution launched by The Reserve Bank of India in 1987 on the function of its golden jubilee. Initially IGIDR began off as an exclusive research institution, but once on the roll, it took some fast paces and very quickly transmuted itself into a full-fledged teaching cum research center. Not only is the institute accepted by the UGC, but it is also an active member of the AIU.

Facilities – Covering a land of 14 acres on a hillside in Goregaon (E), IGIDR offers the following facilities to its inmates: Office buildings for research and administrative staff, Seminar rooms, 500-seat Auditorium, Library, Computer centre, Cafeteria, Guest house for visiting scholars, Tennis court, Swimming pool, Table tennis, Badminton courts and a Gymnasium.
