MAU District

Introduction
Mau district is the district of UP state of India and Mau town is the district main office. Mau district is a region of Azamgarh Division. Mau district is located in the south-eastern portion of the state with headquarters at Mau town. Mau district is covered by Ghazipur district on the south, Ballia district in the east and Azamgarh district in the west. Ghagra River creates its northern boundary. Bargarh Railway Station, at a distance of 16 km, is the nearest railway station. The nearest airport, Varanasi Airport is 180 km from Mau, at Varanasi. District Mau is a small town settled in Chitrakut District. Mau exists to the east of Chitrakut, a well recalled pilgrim town in the Bundelkhand region. This town, close to Kaushambi District edge, is about 17 km from Sarai Akil, 24 km from Raipura and 26 km from Rajapur. Mau is on the National Highway 76.
