Introduction
Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (Meenakshi University) was organized on 14th June 2004 on place of Meenakshi Ammal Trust which was established in the year 1983. The trust is regarded in several educational actions like giving awards, scholarships, grants and aids to Indian nationals for study and research in the areas of education, Indian culture and fine arts etc. The Govt. of India in Ministry of Human Resource Development and the Department of Secondary and Higher Education. New Delhi on the suggests of the University Grants Commission, consulted Deemed to be University status to “Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER)” as Per Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 Vide Govt. Notification No.f.9-5/2002-U.3, dated.31.03.2004. At the time of conferral of Deemed University status, BDS and MDS Courses were carried at Meenakshi Ammal Dental College, Maduravoyal, Chennai – 600 095.
