The Orissa Public Service Commission was set up almost five decades back – on 1 April 1949 as a result of the former Bihar and Orissa Joint Public Service Commission. The commission is primarily committed with the work of short listing and recruiting examinees to the several servicing of the Orissa Government. It commenced its function with just three members including a chairman. Over the years, the commission has not only benefited distinguished in the choice of nominees to the various posts but has also strengthen its team from three to six. The commission’s all capabilities are contained out from its office at Cuttack.
The Orissa Public Service Commission (OPSC) is the prime conductive torso to advice the state government on planning the recruitment rules, its statements and the circumstances of service of several posts and services. The commission is creditworthy for carrying the written examination and interviews. OPSC regularly consults the state government on affairs relating to progress and engrossment on relegation basis. It has an enabled and experienced endowment pool in its interview which is experts in their respective subject matters.
