Patna University was set up in 1917 year. It is a public university and it has indefinite number more than 2 or 3 but not many colleges and institutions, imparting education in Many and different field such as Law, Teachers’ Training, Science and Arts, Commerce, Medical and Engineering. Since 1974, the University has also a Directorate of Distance Education. At present the University has 9 Faculties, 32 PG Departments, and 11 Colleges to its credit.
