The Periyar University was founded by the Act 45 of Government of Tamilnadu in 1997. The University is located on the Bangalore National Highways. It has been assigned with National Accreditation Council (NAAC) certification. PU offers collection of courses at different degree levels, via its many affiliated colleges / institutes. This University aims to go up the society by education to attain self-reliance.
