Introduction
POWERGRID, a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise, is one of the biggest transmission utilities in the world. POWERGRID wheels about 45% of the total power rendered in the country on its transmission network. POWERGRID has a pan India presence with approximately 71,500 Circuit Kms of Transmission network and 120 nos. The company has already varied into telecom segment as a carrier while applying spare telecommunication capacity of its Unified Load Dispatch Centre (ULDC) schemes, investment its countrywide contagion infrastructure, its Chairman-cum-Managing Director R P Singh said here today.
