Public Service Commission, West Bengal is an essential body for the achievement of candidates to the several civil services posts throughout the state. Founded in 1937 on the recommendation of Simon Commission below the Government of India Act, 1935, it comprises of one chairman and four other members. The Commission considers proposals from West Bengal Government, Kolkata Municipal Corporation and Howrah Municipal Corporation for appointment by selection after interview from time-to-time.
