Securities and exchange board of India debenture trustees regulations 1993

Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) – appointed group on debenture trustees (DTs) has recommended that trustees should be on condition, with the understanding, if; usually followed by that with additional powers to take action against debenture issuing companies, which default on payment obligations. The group also recommended that the definition of a FI may be amended to include DTs and trustees should be entitled to use the provisions of securitization ordinance to expeditiously recover the dues of debenture holders.
