Introduction
Sardar Vallabbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat was set up in the year 1961 as one of the 17 territorial technology colleges (RECs) of the country. A joint guess between the Central Government and the government of Gujarat, the main purpose with which the institute was established was to impart good technical education in the state.
