Introduction
Symbiosis Institute of Mass communicating was based in the year 1990 in Pune and is part of the Symbiosis international University (SIU). Initially, it was known as the Symbiosis Institute of news media & communicating (SIJC) and in 1999 it was called as the Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication (SIMC). The Institute has gone beyond journalism and has incorporated other courses related to media and communicating.
Therefore in 2007, it was again renamed as Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication. The curriculum at SIMC is designed to meet industry demands and students are trained to become able masters in the field of media and related jobs.
