Introduction
Tamilnadu Agricultural University is a leading agro engineering provider of India and its alumnae are discerned throughout the world. Though the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) came into being on June 1, 1971, it had its genesis from institution of an Agricultural School at Saidapet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and India as early as 1868 which was later relocated at Combater during 1906.

In 1920 it was associated to Madras University. TNAU accepted full duties of Agricultural breeding and Research and affirmed the State Agricultural Department by bearing research productions.
