Introduction
The University of Madras is one of the 3 most former universities in India (along with the University of Calcutta and the University of Mumbai). The Universit of Madras, coordinated on the example of the University of London, was contained on 5 September 1857 by an Act of the Legislative assembly of India. The University has recently accomplished 150 years of its service, has over 300 faculty member and over 2000 PG students focusing their studies. The University has one of the highest numbers of sections in India (about 50 University Departments). The university is cognized for imparting character education. The University is located in the south part of the city of Chennai and has four Campuses at Chepauk, Marina, Guindy and Taramani. This University has been awarded with the ‘5 star status’ by The National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
