How much initial amount of balance I have to keep in Saving Bank account of Bank Of India and I also need to know other related information?

Eligible
Individual - Single Accounts, Two or more individuals in Joint Accounts , Illiterate Persons Blind persons, Minors, Associations, Clubs, Societies, etc. Trusts, Institutions/Agencies specifically permitted by the RBI

Initial Deposit and Average Quarterly Balance (AQB) requirement
Rs.500/- for Cheque book operated and
Rs.100/- for non cheque book a/cs


Charges for Non-Maintaining Average Quarterly Balance
In case of Non maintenance of AQB, Penalty will be levied as under:
SB A/cs with cheque book facility:
Penal charges: Rs.54/- +S.T. per quarter at all centres
SB A/c without cheque book facility:
Penal charges: Rs.40/- +S.T. per quarter at all centres
