SCDT was formally settled on March 5, 2000 through a reminder of under-remaining between SAMTEL Group of Industries and I.I.T. Kanpur. This has been a start of a standout amongst the most huge endeavors towards important industry-the scholarly community association to address the difficulties of rising advancements in electronic presentations. The making of the Center is declaration to the confidence that our graduated class has on IITK, the opportunity that the workforce appreciates, and the qualities that are valued in the scholastic condition of IITK.

The Center is overseen by a "NAC Committee" and "Administration Committee". Employees from an assortment of controls at IIT Kanpur take an interest in leading exploration and conveying ventures to the inside. The middle is controlled by graduate and college understudies and venture researchers and designers at IITK. Engineers from Samtel take an interest at different levels of exercises.

Facilities

Clean Room Processing and Fabrication Facilities:

The Center has set-up a perfect room (Class 1000, Area 220 square meters) with the cleaning and section conventions practically identical to industry guidelines. 1. Integration of Corus Steel substrates with the organic solar cell and organic light emitting diodes in collaboration with Tata Steel Europe.

2. IDesign and development of organic solar cell sub modules in collaboration with Moser Baer and funded by MNRE.

3. White organic light emitting diodes for lighting in collaboration with Sahasra Electronics

4. Printable Electronics in collaboration with Manipal Technologies and funded by DST.

5. Research and Development of Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) large area transparent electronics and its application to active matrix flat panel display funded by DST.

6. Fabrication of a conducting polymer based flexible printable temperature sensor array funded by DST.
