The following observations were taken for determining surface tensiton T of water by
capillary method :
Diameter of capilary, D = 1.25 × 10–2 m rise of water, h = 1.45 × 10–2 m Using g = 9.80 m/s2 and the simplified relation T = rhg 2 × 103 N/m, the possible error in surface tension is closest to :
(1) 2.4% (2) 10% (3) 0.15% (4) 1.5%
Ans. (4)

In amplitude modulation, sinusoidal carrier frequency used is denoted by c and the signal frequency is denoted by m. The bandwidth (m) of the signal is such that m << c. Which of the following frequencies is not contained in the modulated wave ?
(1) m + c (2) c – m
(3) m (4) c
