Yes JIIT is Deemed University. The JIIT is deemed by UGC. Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) is a Deemed to be University under section 3(f) of UGC Act of 1956.

JIIT is accredited by the NAAC for a period of 5 years w.e.f. 16 Sep, 2015.

The institute has 6 academic departments and offers programs in technical education at undergraduate, and doctorate level.

By 1 November 2004, it was declared as deemed university by UGC. Then HRD minister Dr. Arjun Singh inaugurated the institute as deemed university.
