SEM I
Section A, Short Answer Type, Answer ANY FIVE, 5 x 5 = 25 Marks
1. Define Average value and RMS value of a Voltage.
2. Differentiate AC and DC.
3. State Kirchhoff Voltage Law and Kirchhoff Current Law.
4. What do you understand by CAPACITOR and INDUCTOR?
5. State Milliman Theorem.
6. Explain transient response in RL and RC circuit.
7. Distinguish Series and Parallel Resonance in Electrical Circuits.
8. Define Quality factor and Band width.

Section B, Long Answer Type, Answer ALL, Internal Choice, 5 x 10 = 50 Marks
9a). Explain Mesh Analysis and Node Analysis with suitable examples.

9b). Explain Star to Delta and Delta to Star Conversions.
10a). Define Current and Voltage. Write the general expression of sine wave for Voltage and Current and phase relationship.

10b). Explain the basic response of R L C with respect to sinusoidal voltage and their frequency response.

7. Distinguish Half Wave Rectifier and Full Wave Rectifier.
8. What are the applications of SCR for Power Control?
